the oily residue in the TB is more than likely coming from the charged air. The air that travels from the output end of the turbo, into the intercooler, then up through the silver intake pipe and into the TB is not clean and pure. It contains an extemely light oily residue that, over time, builds up and can impede the intercooler's job. You'd be surprised how grimy all of those big, black, rubber connections are on the charged-air system, including the silver intake pipe. Just take off the charged-air temp sensor on that pipe and look at how dirty the tip is (while doing that, clean the tip with carb cleaner for maintenance).
Sure, *some* might come from the PCV system, but most of it is from what I explained above.
I just cleaned that system on my 9K and my 900, and I went through a full roll of paper towels. You will have to remove all the piping to really give it a thorough cleaning. Cleaning the intercooler is another job, and has been posted on this board, but I never did that.
