I don't see the reasoning for your oil recommendation? A good quality fully synthetic is IMO much better suited to a turbo engine than fossil. I wouldn't use fossil oil at all, unless I had my own private grease monkey who changed the oil every 2000-3000 miles ;)
(and then I'd feel bad about the environmental issue of disposing of massive amounts of waste oil).
The lower temp thermostat isn't a good idea either IMO, as the engine likes to run as hot as possible, without overheating. 89 degrees celcius is healthier for the engine than 82.

'96 9000CS 2.0 "Ex-LPT"
~240,000 KMs
still on original transmission, headgasket, turbo etc. Only major replacement is the clutch which started slipping after ECU upgrade. Using Mobil 1 0W-40 changed every 10-15,000 KMs.
Mods are pretty standard:
Chipcenter stage 1 ECU (max boost 1.3-1.4 bar)
Speedparts cone air filter in wheel well
Adj. Koni shocks
H&R springs
Various Speedparts bushings
Refurbished Aero 92 rims with 205/55-16R F1 GS-D3 tires
