it's called PB solvent. (as seen on TV!)
go to any autozone or advance auto parts and ask them for PB spray, they should know what you are talking about. Pb rust remover and lubricator.
anyways, this stuff works miracles.
My guess is osmeone spilled something in the car and the mechanisms are stuck.
SOAK EVERYTHING under the seat that is made out of metal with this PB stuff... i mean everything. If it's metal, soak it.
This stuff will penetrate, lubricate, and protect.
Let it soak for a little while, and get in the seat and try to adjust it.
wiggle back and forth you know, working the stuff in. Then soak it again just for fun.
While you're waiting for the stuff to soak in... spray all of the door lock mechanisms... all of the door hinges, trunk and hatch shocks, and sunroof track.
This stuff won't harm rubber (it actually conditions it!) and doesn't mess up paint, so go NUTS! if you do get it on your paint, just rinse it off with water in a timely manner. This is what i do and i've never had it eat away paint.
anyways, my guess is, that if anything could loosen the seats up, this is it. If it doesn't... then buy new seats, maybe $100 for a pair on ebay...
good luck
