My mom-in-law had that same tire on her '95 Civic, and they did not last long. Now, a Civic weighs like a mouse compared to a 9000 as an elephant, and yet they did not have a long treadlife. She's not a demon on the road, and they were rotated accordingly.
I had Dunlop SP5000 Asymmetrical's on my '98 9K and they only lasted 22K miles (that's actually stretching it, too!). Excellent tires in dry and wet weather (including light snow), but they barely lasted. And I rotated those as well.
I now have Continental ContiExtremeContacts in 225/50-16. I've had them on for approx. 5K miles now. So far, I'm very inspired. Much like the Dumlop's in traction and handling, only that the Conti's were a little better in every category (according to TireRack). We'll have to see how these work out.
The A2's are known to be a soft tire. I have them on my '85 Nissan 300ZX, and although I only drive it once/twice a year, I do not like them on a sports car. My own preference.
