The 91-98 BPC is a Pulse Width Modulated (PWM) valve. It has a 12 volt line, and two switched lines to ground. By adjusting the pulse width on the two lines, the APC system can select the position of the valve. It's not just an open or closed. I don't remember the exact frequencies, but the BPC runs at around 2Khz.

The pre 91 BPC was an on-off valve. Apply power, and it gives full boost. No power, and you have base boost. No in-between.

I'm not (yet) intimate with the Trionic T7 (9-5) BPC, but I'm going to assume it's a two wire PWM valve. Namely, it's spring loaded to one side, and by applying a voltage of varying pulse width, it move proportionally to the duty cycle. It too probably operates at a varying frequency. The reason to vary the frequency is to avoid resonances within the intake as a function of RPM.

The part number for the 9-5 BPC is different from the 91-98, and different from the pre-90s. I know the 91-98 and pre-90 are NOT interchangeable. I'll assume the Trionic T7 BPC is also not interchangeable.
