This isn't exactly the main cause but it does lead to the eventual effect of more CS's than CSE's today. CSE's from about '95 to '97 were all FPT (Full Pressure Turbo) with a few V6's mixed in. From '95 on, all CS's were LPT (Light Pressure Turbo). Given the high failure rate of the V6's, there are not many left. The CSE's, with their FPT, tend to have been driven harder, and therefore there are less today. The CS's, which with only 170hp were probably driven easier, are more abundant. That's why many (myself included) bought a CS and upgraded it to FPT.
Sorry if this message is rambling and doesn't make sense, its 2AM and my first night in the dorm, so I'm a little off.
