my rear calipers on my 'new' 93 9000 were seized (dragging) with very very very old pads, so i replaced the calipers and pads, and bled the rear brakes. i had swapped in the new seconds after the old, and so it didn't take long before we weren't getting any more air out of the lines (started with right rear, then left rear), had a friend help bleed the brakes.
brakes are much better now, but pedal is softer, not as firm as a new car. granted, front pads have some wear, but why softer. is it because the rear calipers have give now that they aren't seized??
do i need to bleed front brakes as well? i thought rear lines would be separate, and i got all the air out.
will the pedal firm up once pads mate with rotors??
