From what everyone's saying, I get the feeling the two cars are pretty much an even match (with advantages/disadvatages evening out). I think the race will really come down to who handles their car better. If you can manage to hit that perfect point of max torque, just short of spinning your tires, then you could do pretty well.
My 3 years of manual driving experience don't include any raceways, so that sweet torquey spot is hit-or-miss for me.
