The white powder you see is very likely dried up dielectric grease and nothing to worry about. I applied clear dielectric grease on my plugs and DI sockets. After a few months I removed the DI and sure enough there was this white powder. The grease has lubricants which evaporate in the intense heat of the cylinder head. What's left behind is the white metallic oxide powder which makes the grease conductive. I think there is available a hi-temp dielectric grease for racing engines.
