So I looked in the Haynes... Posted by Ari [Email] (#2847) [Profile/Gallery] (more from Ari) on Wed, 15 Sep 2004 05:03:09 In Reply to: Crankshaft Position Sensor Location?, Harry, Mon, 13 Sep 2004 12:00:37 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
And sure enough, it shows a crankshaft position sensor, under the intake, that plugs into a hole.
Harry - I'm going to be very location-biased here, and assume that your '92 9000 CD Turbo is a US model with a 2.3l engine. If so, then the sensor is mounted on the crankshaft, behind the main pulley, where Swedecar and I have been insisting.
Here's the trouble (for US folks, anyway) with Haynes - it's the UK version. With a little hunting around, I'm pretty sure the pictures Haynes shows is for the Motronic system. I'm really out of my depth here, but I believe that's for the newer 2.0l engines that were available in Europe, but not in the US 9000.
