Yes, I've done the plugs, determined that the injectors are ticking and need techron at the least. And I will swap the DI with my father's car to test. Exactly what worked for you, hopefully will work for me.
I think it may be possible for the timing to "slip" on a timing chain based system based on some references I've seen on the Performance BB, but I may be misinterpreting, because logically it would seem a belt could slip but a chain couldn't.
I also wonder about my o2 sensor, and emissions in general. My mileage did drop, but this is the first whole summer I've had the car and been driving enthusiastically in the heat, so it may be normal. If i get access to a multimeter I can test the sensor, so I'll work on that.
As for startup times, I would say about 1-3 seconds is normal for my car depending how long it's been sitting. And a short period of roughness is something I have but it's a second or less. Have you cleaned your throttle body lately?
I have no idea why the compressor cycles like that when ACC is set to OFF. I assume it's normal behavior and that the ACC OFF controls the blower motor, but only ECON disables the compressor. I hope someone else can chime in on that.
Thanks for the follow-up, it's cool that you were thinking about my problem!
