in my experience they are not necessarily critical. I replaced the one for the windshield where it comes out of the tank with a plain vacuum connector and I still get fluid right away because the ones near the nozzles are still OK. The one in the back is much more important for keeping pressure in the line.
But on my old C900, I just used a plain straight thru vacuum pieces and I had fluid hitting the windsheild almost immediately.
They do work, but are not mission-critical, except maybe for ones nearest the windshield washer nozzles and in back.
The dealer charges about $12 each for them, but you can get OEM versions from eEuroparts for about $3. Something to include on your next order!
