At the left (engine output) end of the exhaust cam, where distributors were once mounted, our 93 and 94 9000s have a nice turned aluminum plug held on with a steel "distributor" clamp and one bolt threaded into the head. Our 97 just has a rubber (neoprene?)-covered plug driven into the hole. Was this a cost saving change or did the aluminum plug and clamp fall off?
