I have just completed a clutch replacement on my 1994 CS.
As the cost of a new slave in Australia is very high I elected to buy a kit of new rubbers to recondition my existing slave. Not trusting myself to do the job I went to a clutch/brake specialist who charged me about $15 US. He told me the walls of the cylinder were in excellent condition and that the old main O ring was swollen.
The design of the slave cylinder is very simple and it would seem there is no real need to replace the cylinder unless the old one is damaged or corroded.
The slave comes apart quite easily so you could check yours before making a decision.
Apparently the critical O ring to install is the red ring which seals the hydraulic side of the cylinder where it joins the inside of the gearbox. If it leaks at this joint the hydraulic oil mixes with the gearbox oil and leakage is not immediately apparent. (But you rapidly lose your firm pedal)
I also had a specialist put a kit through the clutch master cylinder which was in great shape apart from a broken spring and gunk from the supply hose. (Cost $6 US)
Of course the main thing is to replace the hose from the reservoir to the master cylinder which cost me aabout $3 from a hydraulic hose shop.
Good luck.
