Hello again tony,
I'm sad that i cannot be the proud recipient of your car... but nevertheless, i will give you the SAFEST way to remove the dash panel.
Basically, the very TOP of the dashboard, the panel with the speakers in it, has to be removed, and when you're ready to remove the wood trim, you pull it upwards with no resistance.
Removing the top panel is much easier than you think!
First, start by removing the speaker covers.
Under them, on each side, you will see three goldish screws, tightened down through a thin silvery metal frame.
Two of the screws are close to you, the third is towards the bottom of the windshield.
Remove all of these, and save them in a safe place!
then on the compartment inside the insturment cluster (the indentation inthe dash right in front of you on the driver side) reach in and feel back and forth on the top of the cavity.
You are looking for a tiny hole on the underside of the top dash panel.
When you find it, get out your torx bits, and jimmy a torx driver up in there and remove that screw. It's easy if you get the right angle.
Only ONE MORE SCREW TO GO!!!
Open the glove box, and look along the top rim for a small rubber plug.
pull the plug, and underneath it should be a screw, remove it.
Now, you should be able to pull up on the top panel, and start separating it from the car.
On the sinderside, there might be some wires clipped to it, reach under and unclip all of the wires.
now simply pull up and pull towards you at the same time, and the panel will come out.
NOW remove the wood dash trim...
pull all of the switches out... all stereo equipment, and all climate controls, everything.
one the drivers side swith area, there is a small plastic bar separating the two pairs of switches... pull on the bar and it will come out, revealing a screw underneath. remove the screw.
on the opposite side of the steering wheel, where the seat heater switches were, remove the other bar, and the other screw under it.
Now where the stereo was, there are two more screws just inside the wood dash, holding metal tabs to the intter dashboard, remove these....
pull te shift boot up, and there is one last screw under the boot, in that general area.
now... take a deep breath, work slow, and giggle the dash upwards, making sure it's free of any obstacles... and you should be good.
if you run into any problems, STOP... and e-mail me... it's not worth it to rush and possibly break such a rare, EXPENSIVE peice of saabery.
i suggest removing your other dash plate the same way, and i also suggest installing them with the dash top off, and replacing the dash top last.
have fun
