No matter what ECU you buy, the car will always seem like it has incredible ammounts of power with the W hose removed.

No matter what.

I've got custom computer programs, and i still get better acceleration with the W hose disconnected.

This is because the ecu's are limiting the boost to the maximum level possible, while still maintaining SAFETY!

a real pain, but it's a trade-off.

Safe boost all the time, or insane boost for a short ammount of time, and believe me, it won't take very long to ruin your engine while boosting all over town with the w hose removed!

So...

as far as shopping for computers goes, pick the least expensive one, or most reasonable one you can afford, and also choose the deal that works best for you.

I'd imagine that they will send you the new computer, with a core charge... and your core charge will be refunded to you when you send your old computer back, and they recieve it.

This way, you don't have to remove your computer and not be able to drive your car for days, possibly weeks, before the new computer gets there.

the car you drive has one single computer, and it should be fairly easy to find a performance computer for it... as it's a common item.

They will all differ slightly in performance... but basically i can tell you that you want to buy an ecu that can handle between 16 and 20 psi, constant.

ask questions to the parts suppliers about the performance capabilities of their computers... see who you like best.

Check out abbott racing (most expensive) http://www.abbottracing.com

taliaferro saab (fair priced, not sure on performance) http://www.genuinesaab.com

group9performance (friendly owners willing to talk on phone)

<---- http://www.group9performance.com

and engstrom motorsport chicago, not sure on the URL, but the are very hard to get in touch with, cheap prices i think tho...

in any case, your suspension should be fine for now. Just think about getting upgrades in the future, like aftrermarket shocks and struts, and lowering springs.

Just because your car will be faster, doesn't mean you have to test the absolute limits of it's capabilities... you know?

keep me posted on what you are looking at...
