WD40 it the night before to make it easier. put the nut back on the driveshaft but screw it on so it is flush with the end of the shaft and then bang on it (preferably over wood) to get it loose. Next undo the 2 nuts and bolts that are on the hub where it attaches to the strut. Drop it down and if all goes well, the driveshaft will come out, if it doesn't tap on the end of the shaft some more.
By the way, did you enjoy the brake pedal swap. I did mine today - never cursed so much in my life as i did this day.
