...and the thing about the powerwashing worries me.
One time, after i got a new clutch installed... i was puttin a bottle of fluid into my car, i can't remember what exactly. I think it was oil of some sort, and i THINK i was trying to put it in the transmission.
which was new at the time...
i think actually, now i'm remembering... the transmission was new, and it was leaking. the case seal was leaking... and i found this out at a gas station... and my friend was making fun of me cause i had just spent a lot on the job, of course, and i can't remember exactly what happened, but we were horsin around and somehow, SOMEWAY... oil got spilled down into the open hole in the transmission case where you can see the clutch spinning... from the driver side...
anyways...
when i had the transmission replaced... for free cause it was under warranty, the mechanic showed me my clutch disc, which was ruined.
we looked at it in disbelief.. at is was brand new, and had been installed with the new tranny... it was a 300HP capable upgraded clutch disc...
and the thing looked like it had been attached with a welding torch.
it was stained with what looked like blue flames all over it, like it had gotten really hot an burned up.
crazyness
i think if you got anything into the same area of your tranny case, yo've probably gotten something wet or soapy that definately doesn't like having soap and water on it.
Ive been very apprehensive to washing my engine since this occurance... as the clutch was NOT warrantied... poop :)
the most i do when it comes to cleaning is spray some citrous engine brite stuff on the whole engine and components.... and then let it sit for 5-10 minutes... and then slowly rinse it off with a low pressure garden hose, at a dribble.
anyways... enough lecturing...
the powerwashing is a definate MAYBE for cause... but the exact EFFECT is still unknown, even to me...
i think that you should maybe rig up a string to your clutch pedal... and pull the string up when you need the pedal to come back up... why? you ask?
because i would hope, and so should you, that this is a temporary problem caused by the washing that will eventually go away.
in the meantime tho the clutch should be driven... or maybe you could move it back and forth and in and out a bunch.
the alternative to doing something like this... would be to have it all dismantled, and inspected, and possibly replaced.
if i were you, i'd do anything in my power to avoid something like that at all costs, unless you can do it yourself.
so...
that's my 2 cents... good luck, let me know what happens...
