Since you have both cards. Use the 43.000 for your 9-3 or 9-5 and verify if it store the snapshot in those cars. If it does, both cards are good cards.
It might be that Saab didn't even bother to add the snapshot function to the 95 and older 9000 in version 43.000 due to limitations of the cars ECU.
If you don't see it there in the menu together with read diagnostic codes, live data and system id, I guess it's not there.
Some auction sellers point out that they are in fact the cheaper cards without the possibility to upgrade or store data. Others point out that they sell the "real deal" but they usually go for around $250-300 each.
A friend of mine just bought a 32Mb Saab card with the 109.000 version on, and when I was going to upgrade it to 112.00 for him I couldn't do it since the card was not rewriteable.
