Once the door panel is off, it's very straightforward. The actuator is bolted to a metal bracket, and the bracket is held to the door frame. Just unbolt the bracket and remove the whole assembly; you can swap out the actuator on the bench. The connector is usually tie-wrapped right nearby. At the end of the actuator is a little S-hook arrangement to link the actuator to the door lock. This slips off easily - sometimes too easily - be prepared to fish it out of the bottom of the door.
I recently was pulling from a parts car, and I think I was down to about 6 minutes to access and remove a door lock actuator.
