All the little leaks of what? As Bill pointed out it has a chain, not a belt. The 93 we just donated had 222K miles and still has the original chain. However, the serpentine belt can be troublesome. You can check the visual condition of the belt and (of course with the engine off) push down on it to check the tensioner. The two plastic idlers, at 97 K should also be checked; you can listen for noise or (engine off) reach down and check for wobble. (see recent posts on serpentine belt replacement). Did your mechanic put the car on a lift and check exhaust, CV boots, brakes, rust, fuel tank straps (which can rust and break), etc.? You can usuall tell whether the car had the major Saab services by checking the coupons in the service book. Good luck and welcome to the most incredibly helpful bulletin board!
