since mine is just called Hyperboost (without the 'HX') from Stratmosphere. It's made to last forever being as how it is of the piston-style and not oem diaphragm-style. It needs to be serviced annually, requiring taking it completely apart and cleaning out the grime inside and re-lubing with Mobil 1 grease.

I needed a higher-performing BPV since I installed Stage 3 upgrades and the stock BPV (Bosch # ending in 103) could not hold high pressures. The Hyperboost is exactly like oem, meaning it dumps the extra boost back into the airbox, creating a muffled "whoosh" sound. It does not dump it out of the BPV itself and into the atmosphere. That style makes a lot of noise ("hoot", hence the term hooter valve).

The higher-performing Bosch one (# ending in 110, referred to as the Viggen BPV) would work just as well for less than half the price of a Hyperboost. That is my only regret about having purchased one of these ($$$).

BTW, a higher-peforming BPV will NOT give more power; it only serves to work with the higher power already being given to it (as in engine/turbo upgrades).
