often on-acceleration-temporary-insanity is cured by replacing the check valve in the vacuum line between the intake manifold and the safety valve on the firewall. Old ones were black and white; newer ones are red and white. They both resemble the fishing line bobs we all know and love. Of course be sure to make note of the correct orientation for the check valve.
Could be,though, that something has been compromised by your kickdown wire's being melted a bit. Perhaps only makes itself apparent under acceleration, when the actual traction control is managed by the kickdown wire. I imagine if that's the case it should be possible to solder in a replacement section of wire to restore the proper resistance.
