Sorry not to post earlier - Christmas shopping in the Smoke.
In fact I think it was AdamB who first suggested these tyres to me. I was running Pirelli P6000 before - I liked them but they used to run out of wet grip when two-thirds worn.
When I got the F1s I was very impressed with the grip (wet or dry) but found that the rather flexible sidewalls made the car feel a bit clumsy - the steering response seemed rather slow.
However, the same squishy side-walls made my suspension more comfortable. I have Abbott springs, Konis and poly bushes and the F1s out the ride on the acceptable side of hard. Maybe I've adjusted to the feel of the steering because that no longer worries me. The nice thing is that you really feel you can throw the car around in corners - lots and lots of grip, and you even feel you can slide the thing about on dry roads. My suspension set-up gives the car largely neutral handling.
I also experimented with pressures, as you do, and ended up putting all four at 36½ psi. When I had to replace the fronts (quite soon, let it be said - only about 13,000 miles) I found slight signs of over-inflation even at this quite conservative pressure, but anything less puts the slop back in the steering.
So on the positive side - nice handling, huge amounts of grip and they look really cool too with long tiger-stripe style directional tread (plus a sidewall profile to protect the rims).
On the negative - expensive, not long-lasting on the front (at least for my car/driver combination), squishy sidewalls won't suit everyone.
