Unless you have had some reason to be carrying around a container of coolant on the driver's side floor of your car, there is a high likelyhood that you have a leaky heater core, a common failure on these cars. Have you checked your coolant level in the radiator expansion tank lately? If it's low, the heater core is probably the source. You may want to look at the hose clamps for the heater core, located under the black horizontal plastic cover below the windshield, but don't count on it.
Broken heater cores will leak into the footwells. In the US, there was a product recall to fit a plastic cover over the SRS control unit, which is located in the center console on the floor, to protect it from the moisture.
If you replace the heater core, replace the fan motor at the same time.
