Since I don't know how old his ISAT is I can only give a couple of hints.
OBD2 cars are from 96 and up and the test socket is 16 pins instead of 10 pins.
The socket is located on the driver side under steering wheel but above pedals (US spec).
Do you know if the ISAT has two boxes? First the original scanner and then an extra box on top that is called SDA.
The extra box is needed together with a 16 pin wire harness for OBD2 cars.
If the scanner doesn't have that SDA box it probably also need an upgraded memory board inside the ISAT scanner.
The latest memory card, SDA box and 16 pin cable used to be around $1500.00 when Saab sold it. I doubt that they still sell them since everything is run by the Tech 2 scanner instead.
