unless your aren't sure exactly what all the names are of the various components (which I wasn't, so it was educational).
The manual is basically a primer on how to use the SAAB ABS tool, which is just as hard to find.
I also have an 88 with a hard pedal--replaced the pump, and will probably try and rebuild it over the winter. The car is parked for the winter, because it needs a new clutch (among other things). Must wait till spring! And for those who remember (DickT and Swedecar), I still have to try the accumulator in my 88 from my 91. The cold weather came before I had a chance to do the swap. I'll definitely check it out in the spring.
Is it possible to simply drop in another hydraulic assembly from another year? There's plenty of room there, and you'd have to modify some of the wiring because the hydraulic components are in a different configuration, but is it possible? I'm sure that you'd also have to fabricate some kind of mounting point as well (relocating the old one). Just asking because it seems that the 88 systems are so rare and expensive to replace.
Wondering out loud,
Urby
