.. just an FYI on a service job done well..
Just picked up my 97 9000 Aero from my local Indy. At just over 105k I drove it to work and went to go to lunch... it cranked slow like a dead batt, then when I tried again, turned over better, started and ran rough, then smoothed out , then looked in the rear view to see great clouds of steamy smoke... uh-oh.. immediately shut it down and called the tow.
I bought it 3 years ago with 64k, and wihtin the 1st year noticed the drvr front head area was leaking ever so slightly, and assumed then engine might not have gotten a proper retension done on the bolts. I figured this was the culprit area, and wasn't disappointed. $550 out the door... $400 labor/$150 parts.. oil/filter $ fluids incld..
I don;t consider the need for it or the cost out of order.. I knew the gasket would go eventually.. I just wish I knew when to expect it, not to mention when other bits are likely to give up the ghost.
