I replaced the rear control arm bushings in my 1998 CSE at 100,000 miles. The improvement was so dramatic that I wish I had replaced them earlier. I am told that the front bushings last a lot longer. If you can move the rear control arm bushing mount more than a millimeter by prying with a large screwdriver they should be replaced. About the same time my rear tires started showing cupping or feathering which is a sign of worn shocks even though the bounce test seemed OK. Somewhat worn shocks can still handle large bumps. The big difference with new rear shocks was the way they eased the small bumps, reduced the road noise, and just give the car a more solid feel. I spend a lot of time in Pittsburgh and southwestern Pennsylvania where the pot holes are terrible so maybe your shocks will last longer
Check the play in the rear control arms and look for cupping or feathering of the rear tires. Good luck.
