Ari,my friend, what wrong? What you state above is completely incorrect-it's completely the opposite. At a idle you need to advance the spark(BTDS)because things in the combustion chamber are happening so slowly. The preasure is building slowly at low RPM's,so you start the ignition point earlier in the chamber, when the piston is lower in the stroke. As RPM's increase the combustion process(cylinder preasure) also speeds ups, because the piston is moving faster. The preasure builds faster in the cylinder and the timing of the spark ie retarded so preignition, spark knock, the result of higher cylinder preasures will not occur. When boost from the turbo is building you need to further retard the timing(the point at which the spark occurs in the cylinder in relation to piston position in the cylinder). That's why you have the double spring setup on a turbo vacume advance so the timing can retard further than just at the normal stop position.
You must have some thing else thats on you mind,Good Luck Ari-Ronny.
