Maybe I can make you feel better. Your points are valid but in the scope of things, the 9000 is still a solid car overall.
I have a black 5-spd 94 Aero with over 180,000 miles on it. I bought it used with 65k on it. I have replace the stuff you mentioned (don't care about the seat heater which of course does not work) but when it's all said and done, the car still runs hard and tracks and drives like new. The car still gives new Bimmers a run for their money and I still play with an occasional WRX. I travel with it with no worries, take my baby to daycare. The reliability is still better than average in my opinion.
No timeing belt to worry about. No mushy suspension. Heck my freind had to replace the motor mounts in his Toyota Camry at 80k and 95k his alternator had to be replaced.
The 10 year old saab still has the same water pump, alternator, power steering pump and brake cylinder. All of which are expensive items and commonly require replacement on other makes.
My paint looks like I wax my car every week. People ask me how often I wax and look at me in disbelief when I tell them three years ago.
I have had my little troubles, but they far outweigh the good.
I say kudo's to SAAB for making the 9000 a good car out of the GM platform (it is actually an Opel platform).
Buy an Aero or 9-5 while you can still get the B234 engine and enjoy.
The 9-3 has a GM Ecotec Saturn 4 cyl. Now that GM owns Saab 100% there is little to love anymore on the new models.
