We are leaving Georgia, May 28.
The car has 140,000 miles. It has had within the last 10,000 miles a new radiator, water pump, new coolant hoses, new vacuumn hoses, new Serpentine belt and tensioner spring, new DI cassette, new throttle body, and new CV joints. I also replaced an air conditioner hose and am doing the blower motor on Sunday.
At 100,000 miles the clutch and motor mounts were replaced. At 120,000, I put in new front brakes and rotors.
I need and plan to get new tires.
I've put a lot into this car and really enjoy traveling with it.
I'll be traveling with my three boys, ages 6, 8, and 14. I speak Spanish.
Thanks for any advice on anything else I can do between now and then to head off any breakdowns. I've put a lot into the car and want to do anything else I can to make this trip and my future driving as reliable as I can.
I like doing my own work and have a real good Saab Certified Tech as backup.
What would be a good plan if something did break in the mountains of Northern Mexico in spite of my efforts at preventative maintenance? Parts?
