I picked up a new to me 98k CSE (5 spd) on Sunday to replace my wife's faithful and long-serving 88 9kT which has nearly 180,000 miles on the clock. She really wanted an Aero, since the 98 is an Aero without the body kit and those famous seats, and it was a good price, it was too good to pass up.
Anyway, the seller had an invoice in the car for his 95,000 mile service, which he had done only 2 months ago - total bill was $1,250 - or 25% of the total price I paid for the car. Half of the bill was for the 95,000 mile service and the other half was to replace the flex pipe and center muffler.
With Eeuroparts, a free Saturday and help from fellow Saabnetters I think I could have done all that for less than $300. Just nice to be reminded sometimes why many of us spend all that time "playing" in the garage.
