My experience with Bar's Leak.

I know there is some passion on both sides of the issue of using Bar's Leak to extend the life of the heater core. Bob Davis used to regularly chime in with citations of the large number of new car manufacturers that would put it in their new cars. Also he would quote tests that showed that Bar's would not plug an ultra fine screen. Forgot the spacing.

Some have argued that Bar's caused them to have to go buy a new radiator because it plugged it up with all the 'goop'. Some of these folks don't seem to be sure whether it was actually Bar's or another stop leak product. There is a difference.

I put Bar's in my '95CSE almost 5yrs ago. The sweet smell was there, and I was hoping to put off a new heater core until I had to replace the blower. I'm still waiting. I use new silver bar's once a year, usually. Also when I flush the radiator.

No problem with plugging of the radiator or heater core. And both the HC and blower are working great. Maybe next year....
