OK, not a big difference between a '93 and a '97, but it's nice to have the information.
How cold was it overnight? Bitter, nasty teens (F)? How is the gas level in the tank? Could you have frozen gas? A real possibility if you're where it's been very cold and snowy of late - the snow provides the moisture, and the cold provides, well, the cold. If the tank has been run below 1/2 for any length of time, it will suck in water, and that water will wait around.
It could be spark - a DI cassette could be dead, as they do die.
The first thing I'd do is try and start the car. If it does, OK, game done. If it doesn't, put the gas pedal all the way to the floor, and holding it there, turn the key and crank the engine for about 5 seconds. It won't start. When you turn the key to OFF, listen for a buzz under the hood. This is the DI doing a burn-off. If you don't hear it, open the hood and have someone do this for you while you listen. It's a very noticeable buzz. No buzz, and the DI is probably the problem.
If you hear a buzz, pull the DI and pull a spark plug or two. Do they have fuel on them? Unlikely, but possible. You want to find out if the fuel pump is running. No fuel, and I'd put my money on frozen gas line. NExt would be a fuel pump issue.
Lastly - how fast is the engine cranking? As fast as usual? Slow cranking drops compression, and will make it harder for the engine to start. That can be a tired battery/poor clamp connections/ both.
