Cold Weather = Sticky Antennae Mast - Lubrication

ideas, anyone? I have gone the route of an adventurous DIYer, and used cable lubricant (light oil with fine graphite powder) on the mast when fully extended, as well as spray silicone. The recent East Coast Temperature Plunge (6 Degrees F. on the way into work today) has won out, and the mast doesn't want to extend. Anyone had any luck with some particular procedure or product?
