I got the same thing from a Saab dealer and from eEuroparts. Both are lower quality in appearance than the originals, so I hide them from passengers by putting them into the evaporator housing, under the flap (that's where to look, Scott. Under the plastic aquarium cover on the passenger side, you'll see the evaporator box. There's a flap that opens revealing the slide-in filter element.) Then I hope that riders won't request a look at the cabin air filter -- luckily enough no one has done so yet!
They work fine as far as I can tell. Certainly better than the coal-black, sodden originals I pulled out. I don't doubt that they've been farmed out to lower-cost manufacturers after the demise of the 9000 line, thus their lower-rent assembly.
