Re: TCS OFF, and '93 ABS Posted by Ari [Email] ![]() ![]() In Reply to: TCS OFF, how to in the next four days? HELP, Mike K., Tue, 15 Feb 2005 14:26:54 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
Yes, you can put in a TCS off switch, which will disable the TCS. It will NOT disable the limp-home mode if the TCS system has a fault.
The TCS Off button must be pressed after the car is started to turn the system off. And the car has to be going slower than 37 mph (60kph). Pressing it again will turn TCS on. The TCS will revert to on after the car has been turned off (and started again, 'natch).
The '93 (or '94) ABS box is only required if you have a '92 car. The '92 ABS ECU did not have the wiring to turn off TCS. '93 and later ECU do.
I also assume that you have a manual tranny car.
If you send me your email, I can email you a .pdf of the Saab service bulletin. But it's pretty simple - all you need to do is connect pin 25 of the TC-ABS box to ground with a momentary contact switch. It must connect to ground and then open again, or it won't work, so just tying pin 25 to ground won't do it.
