Go synthetic or not?

Just had my head gasket replaced along with the crank and rear main seals. Is now the right time to convert to full synthetic? I've been putting it off for a while as some say I'll spring leaks with the old seals. The car has 193K on it with the orig turbo. Should I be concerned about the turbo when making the transition from petroleum based to synthetic?
TIA
