Yeah, going through the FM section has to take some of the edge of the 20-20kHz! That ought to be much better when you get it in. That must have been something the prior owner put in, right? Don't think it would come from the factory that way-

So regarding the cubbyhole you mention, is that at the radio? I have the ashtray on bottom, then the indash CD, then the radio, and above that the ACC unit. I'd really like to find the cable end at the rear, plug in the changer, and find everything to work- that'd be ideal. I'll have to poke around till I find out. There's no reason to remove the floor at the hatch area is there? I'm planning to look around the side panels a bit, then if I don't find anything easily, I'll go to the front and see if I can determine if there's an open socket for the data cable on the back of the indash CD player. If I find something connected to it, I'll then make a more concerted effort to find the end at the back. If it's just an open connector, I'll use the new data cable, stick it in the glovebox, and call it good. Hopefully.

Yes, my car came with and currently has the RF modulator, but I recently acquired a CD/EQ unit that I am hoping to install soon. I have to think that modulating the CD output, then using the FM radio portion of the Clarion radio has to degrade the sound quality!

I was able to get to the audio cables by removing the lowest cubbyhole box, the one that's about four inches tall - just pry it out with a small screwdriver. In my car, the CD changer plugs into the cable in the rear left corner of the car, the FM modulator is stuck behind the cubbyhole, connected to the other end of the cable.
