Writer wants to fix his own saab with 163,000 miles Posted by Rob [Email] (#1828) [Profile/Gallery] (more from Rob) on Wed, 9 Mar 2005 09:52:29 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
Good day to all!
I have been driving Saabs since 1978 and have never attempted to fix my own car! Now I'm in a position that I must cut the cord to my 93 CSE (which I dearly love) or spend a ton of money getting it fixed.
Here is what's wrong with the car:
Blown head gasget (possible valve work -the car didn't overheat)
Leaking gas tank (it's plastic)
Oil leaks (the mecahnic didn't go into detail)
Fan motor is broke
Drivers side seat is not working properly -leather is just starting to crack
Cd player and cassette tape works sometimes
Interior is starting to have that worn out look (mainly because of it being dirty)
body has on creased dent on the drivers side - paint needs a face lift (it's red)
So I'm not sure if I invest or buy another car that I don't know and satr over again. Looking around is a little bit depressing.
So I'd like to apply myself to fixing what I could with a little coaching from this group! any feedback will be appreciated.
Rob
