I've got the same symptoms on mine, and so far have just adopted the tack of slower deliberate shifting when going to 5th, to avoid overshooting and hitting the stop. Coupler could be the cause, but when I have it in gear, there's very little slop that I can tell. I'm not sure if this stop on the right side is internal to the transmission or external, perhaps hitting something on the body. I would have expected the transmission to limit the travel to the proper gate, but I've never seen the internals of these things, so it may not be designed that way, but instead relying on an external guide. I haven't been annoyed sufficiently to look into it further yet; maybe when springtime rolls around... :)
