Just follow your natural instinct!
I used to have hight temp. problem which I guessed it was the radiator.
Replacement took 2-3 hrs. me 'beginner' DIYers.
The steps 'roughly' are :
1.Detach all pipes and hoses
2.Drain out all coolant
3.Detach the radiator fan
4.Detach the trans fluid cooler (on buttom of radiator) & Oil Cooler
5.Put off the radiator..
Installation just reverse the steps...
Unfortunately replacing the radiator won't cure my high temp. prob. It turned out to be just the T-Stat. But I keep the new Radiator in my car coz don't have much time to re-work it. The used 'good' unit has about 90K miles on '98 car. Email me if you interest to go for a used one, it's ready to ship =)
