Someone earlier said the PZero was a 51psi tire. My PZero Asimmetricos are 44psi tires, it's possible that one of the newer PZeros - the Rosso or Nero - is a 51psi tire. These are the tire manufacturer maximum recommended inflation pressures.

That isn't to say you should run them at that pressure in daily use. Nor does it mean that the tires will come apart if you run them at pressures even higher than that (those are cold pressures, the pressure will increase somewhat as the tire heats up during use anyway.)

Tires mostly like higher pressures, it means less flex which means less heat and it's heat that kills tires. You will find that Saab (and every other mfr) wants you to run somewhat more than their baseline pressure recommendation for sustained high-speed use. In the US, occasion for such sustained high-speed use is regrettably rare. Another guideline for this is at http://www.tirerack.com/tires/tiretech/general/airpress_loadadj.jsp

In street tires (unlike a race tire) grip increases with pressure, up to a point. Varies from tire to tire, and road to road, and car to car, but usually 40-44psi

This also means you can use differential tire pressures to help balance the car's handling. As I noted earlier, I typically run about 4psi more in the front than in the rear - 38 front, 34 rear.

Ride quality may deteriorate with higher pressure - and it certainly will at very high pressures.

Tires will generally wear best at a little higher pressure than you probably want for ride quality.

Rotating your tires is your best friend when it comes to equalizing wear and getting best grip and life out of your tires.
