'91 9kt: Front suspension lower control arm polyurethane bushings, front and rear SAS sway bars with poly bushings, rear Koni shocks, upper motor mount with one polyurethane bushing, the other rubber, and polyurethane tranny mount.

'95 CSE (RIP): Front suspension lower control arm polyurethane bushings.

The results: Just doing the poly bushings on the '95 resulted in better tracking on the highway. BTW, make sure to also buy the thicker stainless sleeves to go in these. That car still had a very soft suspension. If it had been my car and not my wife's, I would have gotten some Aero springs.

On the '91, very little body lean, very precise steering. Not too harsh over bumps with those Konis. I have them screwed in 1 1/2 turns. I heard Bilsteins were harsh.

The amount of work: I am not exaggerating here - 11 hours to put in the rear SAS sway bar! The bolts were a nightmare. I installed the Konis at the same time, which probably added an hour to the job. The front SAS sway bar was an extremely tight fit, and I had to take a grinder to a couple of corners to get it to fit. I probably spent 3 or 4 hours on that, and this was with many other components removed, as I was doing some major engine work at the time. The lower control arm bushings are probably a 4 or 5 hour job. You have to hack out the old bushing as much as you can, burn out the remainder with a hot flame (I used an MTTB torch) and hope the neighbors don't object to all the black smoke. I did it at night. :-) To get as much rubber out before using the torch, I used a coping saw. Don't try it with a knife.

If I got another 9kt, what would I do again? Probably the lower control arm bushings, and I'd have a shop install an Aero suspension for me, if it wasn't an Aero. I've gotten tired of doing suspension work.
