Suddenly my 95 9000 CSE driver's side front footwell is flooded. The mat is soaked through and when I removed it, the carpet underneath is soaking wet with about 1" of some sort of clear fluid (water?). It also has a faint smell like a chemical or something in the fluid. I soaked up a lot of the fluid with towels but it was still soaked and when I checked the footwell about 2 hours later (parked), the fluid level had risen again and I had to wipe it up again. I looked everywhere for the source and there is no leaking under the car or anywhere that I can see under the hood. It seems like it's coming in from behind the footpedals and is wet right to the front of the driver's seat. I'll take it to a mechanic when they open on Monday, but in the meantime, what should I do? I haven't used the A/C so that can't be the source. Something similar happened during the winter when the BACH footwell behind the driver's seat was soaked but I thought it was because snow had gotten in from a rear window that I mistakenly left a few inches open but it dried so I forgot about it. What the hell is leaking?
