If it sounds like it's trying to start, that says good things about the ignition, at least. Sitting for a week shouldn't be a problem.
If the battery was very low, cranking speed would be slow. If it's really low, it can be hard for an engine to start. That's why sometimes if the battery is low, I'll try to start the engine with the throttle slightly open. Engines crank faster with the throttle slightly open. If you can put a good charge on the battery and it cranks faster, all may be OK.
