If TCS is having a bad day, it can either put you into limp home mode while you're trying to get out in front of an 18 wheeler, or cause the car to not start/start hard when you're picking up your date for a nice evening out.
Limp home while in motion has a variety of causes; not getting the car to start or run is usually because the safety valve isn't calling home and the car's idle control is lost when the electronic throttle shuts down.
Try swapping your safety valve with the one on the left front fender near the battery -- they're the same valve with different mounting brackets. This will often get your car to run, if the other valve's okay. Nice quick diagnosis.
Let us know what you find out.
