New 3" downpipe & trouble with studs-help! Posted by Huey [Email] (#1023) [Profile/Gallery] (more from Huey) on Wed, 27 Apr 2005 19:27:42 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
I can't get the turbo-to-downpipe studs back into the turbine housing. Two of the three came out of the housing when I turned the nuts, even after soaking with CRC penetrant. So i am now trying to put them back in, with the nuts already on, but they go in real tough. Looks like i may have to swing AC comp out of the way, or also oil cooler, in order to get more direct at the nuts? I don't want to risk breaking a stud off in the turbo, but maybe they can take more torque?
Also, on my '92 Turbo, the 3" DP and adapter I got from Tallifiero, together with a CATCO Cat from Summit, end up 9" short to the midpipe. Do I find a 3" piece of tubing and have it welded or clamped in? If so, after the cat? Anyone else had to do this?
Neighbors are hating this loud car!! TIA!!
