Salutations:
Well, I guess I'm remembering for those wicked full plastic Loom blocks I had on my old '89 900 I suppose. But I have been thinking and wonder if perhaps I could find a decent marine gel sealer to load into connectors after I clean them up as I go along.
Pop off your safety valve loom connector next time you are in there - it doesn't isolate the females in any positive way and it was exactly this that caused the previous owner and myself considerable untraceable trouble and expense. Being that it was missed and the rest of the loom was then gone over trying to find the problem - I am now worried that some other odd-ball problems may have been incurred during the search.
As to the relay panel - I'm not sure yet - but it seems like the loom is largely feed up to the unit and that it could be shifted down to mount it on the underside of the glove box instead of the top. At least in this way - when the sun roof drains block up - the relay panel might be able to dry out more efficiently.
I don't know really, just trying to do the job of cleaning up the loom -once - I suppose. While I agree SAAB was still light years ahead of some of the other manufactures in 1993 - that isn't to say they weren't above putting a 5 cent connector in when a 10 cent one might have been better in the longer term.
